Here we strive to keep this ancient breed of Estrelas as pure and as regal today as they were in Roman times. We will endeavor to always keep our Estrelas as close to the ancient upbringing as those of long ago. Continuing growth of this breed, keeping true to their type and standard, Overall health and temperament are most important here.

Misty Mountain has approximately one hundred acres for these guardian dogs to roam and fulfill their natural instincts. Their loyalty, courage, and loving companionship are the characteristics that make them the coveted rare breed they are. This is a breed of companionship; they thrive on human interaction and attention. You will not be purchasing a dog, you will be getting an addition to your family and a friend for life, not to mention the Guardian, that the Estrela's were bred for.

I am sure, once you get to know the Estrela, you will love the breed as I do. This majestic breed will protect your livestock, your family, your children and your house with all of their being. So gentle in nature to humans, yet a protective force if needed.

It is my pleasure to help populate this rare breed in the States. I've known dogs my whole life and nothing measures to the Estrelas. And that is why I am becoming the second breeder in the States. Because I believe in this breed.

Our first Estrela, Meu Beau Ami, became a UKC Champion in a matter of a couple shows and has two wins toward the Grand-Champion Title. December 23, 2008 Beau became a "Canine Good Citizen" and a "Therapy Dog". He visits hospitals, schools and nursing homes.
